Indian Rosewood is beautiful, its hard, its been used in acoustic guitars forever and its all very unique. We don't see it much in electric guitar bodies though and that's a shame. But if you love the unique colours and grain pattern of Rosewood then its a great option and with a little consideration for gluing and finishing will give you a stunning and unique guitar...
Firstly, rosewood is on the heavy side, so perhaps a 3-4mm top is a good choce to keep the weight down on your guitar. Its a naturally oily wood which means that consideration needs to be given for finishing and gluing however there are great options for both satin and gloss finishing for rosewood. Its also hard to know whether you chosen piece of rosewood will lighten or darken in appearance over time which means that the fretboard you choose should be able to look great with both in order to keep your beloved guitar looking pretty in years to come.
There's more to consider but if you would like to join me on YouTube we can discuss it together and you can let me know what you think!
