Further to my email here are a few pictures of the Ash body blanks I have prepped. As I said don't worry about the wood looking rough for now, just take a look at the grain and positioning and let me know your thoughts.
Both pieces are from the same slab of Ash so the weight will be pretty much equal. I've marked out where I think the best place to cut the body will be, based on where the hardware etc will go. If you'd like I can reverse both and mark them up the other way if you think you'd prefer the front of the body to be the other side.
At the bottom I've also put a couple of pictures of a finished example from the same slab of Ash so you can see how it will look when its finished. Drop me an email or I'm happy to have a call.

Here's the Sapele blank I've prepped. The picture is really deceptive because the wood is actually a lot darker and more red, it's just how this type of wood looks when it dry sanded. The important thing is to check you like the way the grain pattern looks and sits. Again, I think its a really beautiful grain pattern. It might be a bit harder to see the Tele outline but its there. I've also attached a rough finished test piece just to show how the wood and grain stands out when its finished.
