ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Gio and I love building guitars.
Since moving from furniture making to luthiery about 6 years ago I have found my life's passion. Building the very finest instruments in the most beautiful wood for wonderful clients is now what I get to do every day.
I launched Tornelli Guitars (named after the small commune in which I live, here in Abruzzo, Italy) in 2021.
For me, the guitar is first and foremost a tool for the musician and secondly a piece of art. As a tool it needs to perform effortlessly and let the musician work instinctively by providing wonderful ergonomics and tone. As a piece of art; balance, proportion & clean lines are vital but the star of the show is always the hand selected wood that I choose for each build.

I make very small numbers at a time but you can be assured they'll be made with passion, care and attention.
CRAFTED WITH CARE & ATTENTION
Each guitar is hand made by me from scratch, from planing & thicknessing the rough body blank right through to final polishing and set up of the finished guitar. Each guitar build takes between 6 and 8 weeks to complete. there are no CNC or automated processes in my builds, just good old fashioned hand crafted precision.
I'm lucky to have a great lumber yard locally where I can source almost any kind of hardwood. I also have access to some of the finest selections of guitar top woods and fretboards through personal relationships with some speciality wood suppliers here in Europe. I select only the wood with the most unique and aesthetic grains suitable for guitar building.

I've owned my reimagined Tele for a few months now and just wanted to say thanks for building me such a great guitar. The colour, craftsmanship and quality of finish are stunning and the Seymour Duncan hotrails are just killer. But its the neck and the playability that has really exceeded my expectations. I have 3 guitars on my wall but this is the only one I play now, that probably says it all! Thanks again!
